The Council Tax Precept

Parish Councils  raise money for their activities through the Precept, a levy on the number of village residents which is collected on their behalf by the District Council, as an addition to the District and County Council Tax. This is then paid to the Parish Council in two equal instalments each year.

Our financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March. We agree an annual budget each year and decide the level of annual precept for the following year. We submit our annual accounts annual at the annual meeting of the Council in May

As a small council Wickmere PC is exempt from submitting audit information to an external auditor.  However, it must prepare an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR)  This is shown with supporting documents.
